Chili Cook-Off Contestant Information
Set-up time will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. All vehicles must be moved out of the park by 1:00 PM sharp. Please note that no parking is allowed within the park during the event.
The First Responder Day officially begins at 2:00 PM, and chili tasting will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This schedule provides ample time for participants to set up and warm their chili prior to the start of tasting.
Each team is responsible for bringing their own EZ-Up tent, tables, and chairs. If you plan to use electricity, we recommend bringing an extension cord. Please also bring a ladle for serving and a crockpot or pot to keep your chili warm. You are welcome to bring any additional supplies you prefer. We recommend preparing 3 to 6 gallons of chili.
We will provide access to electricity (or you may bring a propane heat source) as well as tasting cups and spoons for public use.
Each taster will receive a voting token along with their tasting tickets. Token drop boxes will be placed at the EFCF table/chili roasting area. The Elizabeth Firefighters Foundation will be providing five tasting tickets for every $5 donation. To ensure fairness and help contestants conserve their chili, please collect a tasting ticket before providing a sample.
Chili tasting begins at 2:00 PM. All voting will conclude at 5:00 PM, and winners will be announced at 5:30 PM. Announcements will be made throughout the event to remind attendees when to submit their ballots. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.
This year's first place prize is a Timberline XL Wood Pellet Grill featuring Smart Combustion and WiFire Technology. Second and third place are gift certificates to Elizabeth Locker Plant.
